Calaveras Azucar y Pan Dulce
Piece description from the artist
This painting features the colorful and joyful sugar skulls ("Calaveras Azucar") and sweet pastries made during the Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos holiday. The centuries-old Mexican tradition celebrates the one day it is believed that loved ones can return from death and visit their living families. Colorful parties, picnics and parades fill the day, welcoming back the dearly-departed. This painting is framed with a modern black frame and creme-colored matting and plexiglas glazing. Outer frame measurements are 29 × 37".
