The painting depicts Butrón Castle, located in Gatika in the Basque Country, Spain. Originally dating back to the Middle Ages, it was rebuilt in the 19th century in a romantic, neo-Gothic style inspired by Central European castles. Surrounded by palm trees and lush greenery, the golden stone towers rise under a clear blue sky, giving the fortress a fairytale-like appearance. Oil, canvas. Signed. Varnished.
Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favorite.
Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso. The painting Girl on the Ball made a big impression on me in my childhood.
