Bouquet on a Turquoise Shawl

Piece description from the artist

I have the good fortune to live on a farm in Sedgwick, Maine, in the warm months of the year, where my husband Dan grows cut flowers to sell at farmers markets and direct to customers for weddings and parties. I have become interested in combining his flowers with my collection of patterned shawls as an exploration of the relationship between figure and ground. Picture me in his garden wearing a woolen wrap (and shorts!), greedily clipping the colors of my chosen shawl to create these compositions.
