The subject for this acrylic painting titled “Born to Run” is a beautiful bronze horse. The warm colors, as well as the forward running motion of this horse, inspired me to paint this piece. I wanted to capture a sense of action and suggest the horse was coming out of the canvas. To complement the colors of this horse, I choose a warm palette with the underlying color red showing through the other layers in the background. To add texture and depth, I applied layers of paint mixed with acrylic molding paste to the horse’s form and background.
The natural world and her love for animals inspire Dara Daniel's Acrylic on canvas, mixed-media paintings. She combines bold colors and shapes and lots of textures to create fun, playful interpretations of horses and other animal spirits.
For all her paintings, she combines all the available elements of design to express rhythms and energy and moods and emotion. Dara explains, "Each painting experience is unique yet, my goal for all my paintings is to capture a degree of nature's passionate spirit, joy, and beauty."
