Piece description from the artist
The artwork presents a serene and mystical mountain landscape rendered in rich shades of blue and purple. The layered hills and peaks create a sense of depth and distance, with the darker tones in the foreground gradually transitioning to lighter hues towards the background. Above the mountains, a starry night sky fills the upper part of the composition, adding a celestial and tranquil atmosphere to the scene. The blending of colors and the soft, flowing shapes contribute to an overall dreamlike and peaceful mood.
This artwork, with its overlapping mountain silhouettes in rich blues and purples, achieves a remarkable sense of depth and tranquility. The choice of these cool, saturated tones for the mountains not only guides the viewer's gaze layer by layer into the distance, but also evokes a peaceful, contemplative mood. The atmospheric perspective demonstrates a strong grasp of value and form, inviting viewers to almost step inside the landscape and lose themselves amidst the gentle folds of the mountains.
The sky is a particular strength in this piece with itsransition from soft pinks to warm oranges captures the ephemeral beauty of dawn or dusk, infusing the scene with both warmth and serenity. This smooth gradient is especially effective in contrast with the textured brushwork of the mountains, adding dynamism while preserving cohesion within the piece. The textural variation is subtle yet important—it breathes life into the scene and adds a gentle sense of movement, as if the air itself is still carrying the last light of day.
