I love weathered details, and I captured this close-up study of the beautifully weathered emblem of a vintage Ford B-700 "Big Job" bus, celebrating the textured character of rural Americana. The composition focuses on the classic chrome script and bold typography set against a heavily flaking, teal-blue surface, where decades of exposure have yielded a rich patina of rust and warm, mustard-yellow undertones. This striking contrast of heritage-based colors and decaying metal turns an ordinary piece of industrial history into an evocative work of art, capturing a timeless, nostalgic mood that speaks directly to the enduring soul of the American West.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
