A beautiful expansive landscape in the Black Hills of South Dakota with rain showers falling from the stormy sky. To the left you can see Mount Rushmore carved into the granite mountain. To the right you can see the rolling hills which the Oglala Sioux called Paha Sapa (Island In The Plains). They appear black (hence where Black Hills got it's name), and stand over 4,000 feet higher then where the plains you see here in the foreground. I captured this photograph from a pull off area along Iron Mountain Road and Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway in Keystone. This is also part of Custer State Park area.
