Bison In Badlands Evening Sunlight

Piece description from the artist

A large Bison stands in a grassland prairie in Badlands National Park near Wall, South Dakota. The otherworldly rock formations of the Badlands are blurred in the background as the photo focuses on the buffalo. A couple of birds take a ride on its back. They like to pick the loose fur off as they shed their winter coat. I captured this from the Sage Creek Rim Road which is on the east side of the park. The evening light was casting warm tones over the grass and giving the massive fella a golden glow. He was soaking in the warmth of the sunlight.
