Taken in central Bhutan after a week-long excursion to an isolated town where we stayed with the locals and learned about their traditions. We were studying the cultural impacts on the environment and how urbanization is effecting the agriculture in Bhutan.

About Gayle Miner

Allston, MA

Gayle Miner is a photographer based out of Boston, MA. She has a bachelors degree in environmental science from Boston University. She began photographing at a young age and has continued to pursue art independently alongside her studies. Her work is primarily influenced by travel experiences, which have brought her from New England, to Madagascar, to New Zealand, to Bhutan and more. Her recent work has allowed her to combine academics and art. Remote sensing research at Boston University has inspired her Google Earth Art series, where she creates vibrant images from satellite imagery of remote locations, providing an alternative perspective to our planet’s stunning and intricate features.
