A vibrant sunflower stands tall in a city sunflower garden in downtown Springfield, Missouri, United States, while a bumblebee gathers nectar from the center seed area. It’s a refreshing sight to find such a colorful garden in the heart of the city. Belonging to the genus Helianthus in the Asteraceae family, sunflowers are often admired for their sun-like appearance and can grow over 10 feet tall. Their large central head contains sunflower seeds, a nutritious and popular snack enjoyed worldwide.
