Piece description from the artist
An oil painting on canvas. It's of a run down hostel I stayed at in Barcelona. Some stairs were missing, the ceiling was leaking and there were cracks in the walls. There was no air-conditioning. Just the open window, the sea breeze and the wonderful sounds of Spain drifting into the room.
I've always been an artist and painting is how I express my joy for life. Nature is my inspiration. I'm a prolific creator, with a wide range of mediums and surfaces including: encaustic wax, oil paints, alcohol inks, watercolors, acrylics, textiles, pottery, ceramic decals and glass. I live with my family in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. We have a dog, who makes us a family of 5.
