Piece description from the artist
A black and white photo as s sunset fades into night and the rugged landscape of Badlands National Park transforms into a breathtaking display of soft hues and texture. Captured from Pinnacles Overlook near Wall, South Dakota, this scenic view showcases the cool blue tones settling over the cream-colored rock formations after the sun dipped below the horizon.
One of the park’s highest and most popular viewpoints, Pinnacles Overlook offers sweeping panoramic views of the Sage Creek Wilderness and its jagged rock spires stretching across the Badlands landscape. The striking layers of sedimentary rock reveal years of changing climates, ancient floods, and volcanic activity, creating the colorful bands and dramatic formations that make Badlands National Park one of the most unique natural wonders in the American West.
