Piece description from the artist
A side and back view of the historic Jolly Mill in Pierce City, Missouri, with Capps Creek and a waterfall flowing behind it. Colorful trees line the riverbank as I captured this during the fall season. Part of the Ozarks, the old grist mill was built in 1848. It stands as a testament to its craftsmanship and resilience, having survived the Civil War even after the entire town was burned down. Today, the Jolly Mill and surrounding park have been restored to preserve their rich history, featuring period buildings relocated from other sites to recreate the original town that was once called Jollification, MO. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this destination is a beloved Missouri landmark for Ozark heritage and fall beauty.
