Back North Side Of Monument Valley

Piece description from the artist

This photograph captures a classic Southwestern scene featuring buttes, mesa, and spire rock formations scattered through the scene. This is the backside of the Northern part of the iconic Monument Valley. I was standing on the Utah side in Mexican Hat. The buttes in the distance are in the Arizona side. The cool spire rock formation on the left is Big Indian. In the middle is the majestic Sentinel Mesa. Also seen in the far distance between them is Elephant Butte. On the right are more buttes and part of Mitchell Mesa can be seen behind Sentinel. The deep orange tones of the sand and dirt contrasts with the light blue sky with some white clouds which complete this desert landscape.
