Autumn gold in central park

Autumn Gold in Central Park

Piece description from the artist

I was captivated by these golden 'tulies' that shimmered in the cold autumn sun at Central Park in New York City. These seemingly feather-soft water plants lined the perimeter of Jacqueline Kennedy Onasis Lake. In the background you can see the double-towered El Dorado apartment building. The lake and buildings are great, but the essence of the picture would be lost without the stark contrast of natural soft texture of the tulies, and the rigid dark texture of the fence in the foreground. I literally had to hold up traffic on the walking path for a moment, as I knew I had to have this shot.

About Danny Anderson

Brentwood, CA

Danny Anderson has no formal training in photography, but he makes up for what he lacks in training with a unique perception of the world around him.

From the beginning, Danny's approach was simple; when he photographs a location, Danny attempts to capture not just what it looks like, but what it feels like to be there. In doing so, contrasts, composition, dynamics and drama have become an integral part of his process and consideration while making artwork. Danny is always searching for everyday beauty so he can allow the day-to-day imagery to distract and inspire him. Danny refers to this process as "natural distraction."

Danny currently lives and works in Brentwood, California.
