Asylum Point Lighthouse
Piece description from the artist
Asylum Point Lighthouse stands over Asylum Bay in Oshkosh Wisconsin, near the Winnebago Mental Health Institute from which it originally took it name when it was known as the Northern Asylum for the Insane. It was built in 1937 by the depression era Works Progress Administration, but it was rejected by the Coast Guard as a navigational aid and has never been lit.
