Arizona Southwest Canyon Waters

Here is a peaceful morning photo I captured of Antelope Canyon on Lake Powell during a boat tour in Page, Arizona, United States. Towering sandstone cliffs lift above the calm water, while a few kayakers paddle their way through the canyon, giving a sense of the immense scale of these remarkable rock formations. The still water glows with the same warm cream, orange, and reddish hues of the canyon walls.

Seeing Antelope Canyon from the water side offers a different experience from exploring the famous slot canyon on foot. As the early morning sunlight reached into the canyon, it revealed the flowing curves, intricate textures, and layered sandstone that have been shaped over time by water, wind, and the forces of nature. Every bend in the canyon seemed to reveal another breathtaking view.

Located within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Lake Powell was formed after the construction of Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River. I love the contrast of deep blue water winding through the towering red rock cliffs. It's a unique landscape that blends the beauty of the desert with the peacefulness of the lake, creating one of my favorite scenes in the American Southwest.
