This fruit, this food, this life. Simply grown from a tree and sliced to share with our loved ones, our friends, our family, even those we don't know, yet.
Just preparing an afternoon snack for my children and the pattern, shadow and composition of this sliced apple spoke to me. I decided to enlarge the content to accentuate the beauty of simple form and pay homage to the fruit.
One of a series of paintings celebrating the vibrancy of fruit. Larger than life portrait of a sliced orange. As in my other paintings, this was pieced together color by color with a smooth consistency and bold contrast.
