Antelope Canyon Mirrors Itself

I love these stunning reflections I captured of the majestic orange and red Navajo sandstone walls of Antelope Canyon as they mirror across the calm waters of Lake Powell in Page, Arizona. This unique waterway perspective of the canyon gave me a view that feels completely different from the famous Antelope Canyon experience on land. The peaceful morning conditions created almost perfect water for a beautiful “seeing double” effect, with the sandstone walls reflected so clearly that it was sometimes difficult to tell where the canyon ended and the reflection began.

The farther we traveled into the canyon, the calmer and more tranquil the water became. I remember how incredible it felt to watch the warm morning light dance across the canyon walls and their reflections. For a photographer, moments like this are what make exploring the American Southwest so special. Everything came together, the colorful Navajo sandstone, still water, soft morning light, and incredible reflections—to create a scene I will never forget.

Antelope Canyon on Lake Powell offers a view that many visitors may never experience from the water. The narrow, winding sandstone canyon, surrounded by towering cliffs and peaceful waters, creates a truly breathtaking landscape. Capturing these glass-like reflections was one of my favorite photography moments during our time exploring Page, Arizona, and the beautiful Lake Powell area.
