Amsterdam had already won me over – the carefree flow of bikes and canals, the warmth of strangers, tulips spilling out of buckets like color had become a daily habit. When I passed this narrow alley though, something shifted; the light fell softer here, brushing brick and windowpanes in a way that made the whole street feel like a kept secret. I found myself slowing down, imagining mornings with open windows and evenings with lamplighting pooling onto cobblestones. Standing there, camera in hand, it didn't feel like a place I was merely visiting anymore – it felt like a street I could someday call home.
