Piece description from the artist
Since first seeing the decorated Llamas and Alpacas in Peru, I have loved them as animals ever since, especially Alpacas, for their loving and curious personalities. I illustrated this pack of Alpacas in their simple folk art decorations, to commemorate one of my favorite aspects of their cultural decoration in Peru. This whimsical illustration celebrates the charming and gentle nature of alpacas through a soothing palette of dusty rose, soft teal, lavender, and periwinkle against a warm cream background. Each animal is adorned with intricate folk-art blankets, geometric neck ruffs, and delicate decorative details. The repetitive layout creates a playful sense of modern folk art, inviting viewers to smile at the distinct personalities and serene expressions of each friendly companion in the herd.
