All That Remains

Piece description from the artist

On a foggy fall morning, I came across this charming old cabin surrounded by the wild grasses of Montana. I love how these old hand made cabins remind us of simpler times, and are a reminder of past ways of life. This one was built many miles from the nearest town, with logs harvested and shaped by hand from the forests that surround it. Hand hewn marks can still be seen on the logs, and the cement that fills the gaps was made with water and rocks from the stream nearby. I love that these little homes are both environmentally sustainable, and also stand the test of time, standing for many decades beyond when the humans that built them resided there. On this quiet morning, I like to thing about what life must have been like there.
