Afternoon on DH Day Farm

Piece description from the artist

The D. H. Day farm, comprised of 400 acres, was also known as "Oswegatchi" after the New York community where his father was born and the Oswegatchi River where D. H. Day played as a boy.

Day grew hay and corn to feed his 400 hogs and prize herd of 200 Holsteins. The farm is just south of Glen Haven and has a large white barn and several out-buildings that stand as a landmark of the agricultural heritage of this area. The buildings were built in the 1880s and 1890s.

About Owen Weber

Naperville, IL

In the moments before dawn, just before the sun spills over the horizon and across the landscape, I always smile with anticipation as I wait for the show to begin.

I savor the days when I’m alone in nature, witnessing the world in all its perfection and capturing those fleeting moments of natural beauty.

I love the craft of photography and the entire process of earning a photo that makes me proud- even the disappointing days when my shutter doesn’t click once. The white-out blizzards, stormy nights, and grueling hikes are always worth the dazzling golden sunrises, crimson last gasps of sun at day's end, and the crystal clear night skies staring out into infinity.

It’s all a humble reminder that nature is always in charge, and no two days are the same.

Ultimately, I’m just a guy who loves to see the world, appreciate its beauty and attempts to do it justice with my lens.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed bringing it to you.
