Piece description from the artist
I picked up my first pastel about 3 years ago and fell in love. I have been creating art for as long as I can remember, but the feeing that pastel can create was a perfect match for me. A Touch of Gold is done with soft pastel on Canson paper. This piece has taken many awards including Best in Show and People's Choice in competition. Its one I particularly love.
Living in a beautiful place like southern Vermont gives Lisa Mitchell plenty of subject matter. Looking at her work you may even recognize a place or two.
Lisa is a member of the Monadnock Painter’s Group, The Pastel Society of New Hampshire, and the Saxton’s River Art Guild. Her work is currently being featured at The Big Bear's Lodge in West Dover, Vermont, and is on display at the American Traders in West Brattleboro and in Gallery 2 at Vermont Artisan Designs in Brattleboro.
Lisa paints primarily from photographs: some she's taken, others have been sent to her by clients. She says, "I love what I do, and I hope you like my work as much as I like creating it."
