This piece is a part of a series I made exploring the female body through illustration. A lot of the pieces in this series have an embroidered or sculptural version as well.

About Molly Dee

Boston, MA

Molly Dee (www.mollydee.com) is a sculptor and graphic designer who researches and interacts in communities to share their stories through the exploration of the human form. She was born and raised in the Boston area, and from a very young age pursued her artistic career. Choosing to go to a Technical High School to improve her artistic skills, including metal working and sculpting; she then honed those skills while attending Boston University’s School of Visual Arts. After completing a Bachelors of Fine Art with a double major in Graphic Design and Sculpture, as well as a minor in History of Art & Architecture, she currently works as a Marketing and Design Coordinator at Opus Affair, a design agency that promotes arts organizations in the Boston area. This allows her to be very involved in the Boston arts community, in addition to maintaining her own studio at the Dorchester Art Project in Fields Corner as a sculptor.

She has won multiple awards for being a young promising artist including the Goldenberg award and the Marianna Pineda award. Elizabeth Moore, a violinist with Palaver Strings, who once played and interacted in the Molly Dee and John Branagan exhibition “Scollay Under” said “Our journey as artists navigating our new home of Boston has been brought to life by these artists.”
