Shiri Phillips is a painter and mixed media artist based in Omaha, Nebraska, known for her vibrant, energetic works that blend painterly technique with a graphic, pixelated style. In addition to her signature impasto paintings, she creates woven works using hand-painted and recycled paper, which she cuts and weaves into layered, dimensional compositions. Phillips earned her BA in Art History from the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s College of Communication, Fine Arts, and Media. Drawing inspiration from the Mediterranean and Southern California landscapes where she spent her childhood, her work is defined by bold color, repetition, and a deep connection to place and memory.
Since beginning her studio practice, Phillips has quickly built a strong presence in both regional and national art scenes. Her work has been exhibited widely at galleries and art fairs across the United States, including in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin, and Dallas. She is represented by Artspace Warehouse (Los Angeles), Kunstwarenhaus (Zurich), Modern Arts Midtown (Omaha), and PxP Contemporary, and is also featured on Saatchi Art and TurningArt.
Phillips’ work has been included in exhibitions at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, the Jewish Federation of Omaha, and numerous contemporary and pop-up galleries throughout the Midwest and beyond. Her paintings and woven works have been acquired by private collectors across the country, and have been featured in television and film, including You People (Netflix) and 9-1-1 (Fox).
In 2022, she served as Lead Artist for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s “Stories of Humanity” Holocaust Survivor and WWII Veteran Web Portal. Her work has been featured in Canvas Rebel, Milford Magazine, Bold Journey, and the Fremont Tribune.
