Weaving in Black and White

Piece description from the artist
Oftentimes I like to work with minimal colors so I can make optimal use of contrast while focusing on embroidering textures and materials. By focusing on the pure physical elements a relationship between the materials evolves into a new creation. At the same time they are also seen as independent layers. In these works the droplets of natural beeswax are intended to add degrees of opacity and translucency like a protective membrane. They are intentionally chosen in direct contrast to the gilded droplets.
