The Beauty of Nothing

The Beauty of Nothing

Piece description from the artist

Most of my abstract work tends to be very open and delicate with large areas of light or areas to "breathe". In this painting, the large areas have been filled with black, like nothingness. Black is usually used to represent an expanse that, although you can't see what's in there, suggests that there is another space that does exist. Like drifting through your mind in a meditative state, there is a tranquility in the nothingness. The black provides open spaces to fall into, to meditate.
