Swarm of Redwings

Swarm of Redwings

Piece description from the artist

The Southeast Texas Gulf Coast skies have some remarkable colors as well as cloud formations. As the warm, humid tropical air hits the coastline, the cloud formations can reach thousands of feet into the sky. From October to March, the skies can be blood red in the evening as the sun sets on its northern axis. From April to September, as the tropical trade winds blow, the skies are more orange in the evening and golden in the morning. During the spring the redwing blackbirds fly in swarms, as pictured here. It is a sensational sight to see, and you will someday want to experience on your own.
