Piece description from the artist
Our society speaks too lightly of suicide. It is an unreality to us and an everyday occurrence. We see it, we ignore it. Our reactions are light and nonchalant.
But this is anything but light. Anything but nonchalant. We are a broken people.
This series was created after a good friend of mine committed suicide, thus bringing to bear the full reality of suicide into my life.
These images are juxtaposing both the unreality and utter seriousness of suicide.
