Space Chips

Space Chips

Piece description from the artist

One of my biggest interests is space and 1950’s science fiction. Unlike modern interpretations of the future, where everything is sleek and digital, mid-century sci-fi is full of mechanical devices which are often clunky with a lot of blinking lights. There is something so primal about that, its just way cooler. There are several inside jokes hidden within this painting – the title, “Space Chips” is not only a parody of the word ‘ships,’ but also alludes to the 1970’s television show, “CHIPs.”
