Piece description from the artist
Smile in the Sky was taken at 3,000 feet during a hot air balloon ride over the ancient pyramids of Teotihuacan, Mexico. Among the fifty or so balloons flying in our vicinity, I was mesmerized by this giant happy face staring back at me. Fear and joy become naturally juxtaposed as a the life of unsecured people thousands of feet in the air is in the hands of a bold, bright, nylon, smiling balloon.
