Peacocks at the cathedral

Peacocks at the Cathedral

Piece description from the artist

“Flourish” means substantial growth within nature. Inspired by the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, I illustrated a tranquil piece depicting two children interacting with peacocks during their leisure time. It’s a beautiful spring afternoon and these children came from Catholic School. The boy is reading his bible to one peacock, while the girl is feeding peanuts to the other peacock. The children and animal connection was important to express because the country is coming out of dark times. Children represent life and animals represent nature. Highlighting these two subjects signifies life coming back together. Nature and human life is flourishing.
