Nebula

Piece description from the artist

A painting depicting fluid, shimmering, lavender and turquoise reflections in water – or are we really seeing a nebula, a beautiful cloud of pastel-colored dust in a dream?

About Claudia Robles-Gil

Long Island City, NY

Clau Robles-Gil is a 27-year-old emerging artist originally from Mexico. She was born and raised in Mexico City until the age of nine, but moved back and forth between Boston, MA and Mexico in her high-school and college years. Growing up between countries led her to draw artistic inspiration both from her time in the East Coast as well as from her cultural roots in Mexico. During her years in Boston, she had the opportunity to attend MassArt Studio classes and earned two honorable mentions in the Boston Globe Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.

Claudia received her B.S. in Psychology from Tufts University in 2018. While at Tufts, Claudia fully immersed herself in the artistic community – attending studio courses at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) and presenting her work in several exhibitions at the Slater Concourse Gallery, Dowling Hall, and the SMFA. Throughout that time, her work was also featured in a number of literary magazines based in Mexico City, Boston, and Munich, Germany.

Most recently, her work has been exhibited at the Boston City Hall and the Kathryn Schulz Gallery in Cambridge, MA. In 2021, Claudia moved to Brooklyn, NY, where she is presently based and continues her art training at the Art Students League of New York. She is excited to form part of NYC’s creative community and to continue developing her bold, colorful style.
