Fishing

Piece description from the artist

While searching for a scene to paint one sunny October Saturday afternoon, I came upon a bank overlooking a lake and was convinced it would make a beautiful painting. As I began to take pictures, I heard the put-put of a motor boat, and a small craft appeared on the lake before me. Perfect! A fisherman in the scene. Within the year, I had completed the painting. Then, almost exactly a year later (October, sunny Saturday afternoon), I was back at the spot thinking, "This is the subject of my painting," and low and behold. . . put-put-put. . . the same boat, the same fisherman, wearing the same clothes, on the same course heading across the lake. For a moment, I thought I was losing my mind.
