Treating art as an experimental process, Brett Houser spent many years dabbling in just about any material he could think of from plastic flies to grinding flowers into acrylic medium until finally settling into the more practical. His current medium of choice is oil paint. He uses it to create super-normal subject matter where elements of nature are simplified, boiled down and melted.

Brett twists and shapes anthropomorphic figures as a recurring theme, fusing them together and freezing them into positions that point to what his imagination sees as a destination of evolution where supernatural figures are the characters in a strange, new intertwined mythology of humans and nature.
