Piece description from the artist
A still life constructed from folded paper, photographed in my childhood home. It's graphic and bright nature almost leads you to believe that what I've photographed isn't real.
Edition 1/1.
I am interested in the idea of the built environment between the photographer and his studio. A majority of the works I do are Still Life's, usually indoors, in a controlled environment. I think that the relationship one has to their work is sometimes stronger than the work itself and can give it a unique meaning.
I am also intrigued by the interplay of light, shape, texture, form—how these things can generate new meanings through repetition. Creating something out of what seems to be nothing.
Currently finishing up a BFA at San Francisco Art Institute, Graduating Spring 2020. From there I hope to get into ECAL (École cantonale d'art de Lausanne) to study for my MFA in Photography.
