Piece description from the artist
Scanography (also spelled scannography), also referred to as scanner photography, is the process of capturing digitized images of objects for the purpose of creating printable art.
I collect and document materials from my own studio. Paper scraps, paint splatters, old drawings, and studio trash work their way into my art. I whimsically collage these fragments together and present their story by enlarging what were previously small, incidental and fragile moments. I also use paint sample cards from hardware stores. Their words and phrases were coined for the purpose of enticing someone to buy that color of paint. However, when appropriated in the context of fine art, the names of the paint colors become humorous, pseudo-poetic titles.
