Anthropocene

Anthropocene

Piece description from the artist

Mixed media acrylic and Screenprinting on canvas. Title refers to the Anthropocene Epoch, an unofficial unit of geologic time used to describe the most recent period in Earth's history when human activity began to have a significant impact on the planet.

It is influenced by Egyptian hieroglyphics, graphic design and the flatness of screenprinting.

This painting is related to our relationship to the past, our need for totems and what it feels like to live during a time of flux.

Photo shows the painting unstretched.
