In his paintings, Luis Lozano does not aim to paint an object, but rather to faithfully re-sculpt the way light fills the voids around an object. He feels that light is one of the most important elements in creating the illusion of “a painting you can step into.”
Luis studied at the La Jolla Academy of Advertising and Design in La Jolla, California, and his work in the advertising and design field has not only taught him about storyboards, thumb sketches, layout, design, and composition, but also about the relationship between artist and audience.
Currently, Luis maintains a studio and gallery space in Lynchburg, VA.
