Jess Barnett is an abstract painter living and working in the North End in Boston. A self-taught artist, she has been painting since 2004. She counts among her influences the Color Field movement, the region of New England, Japanese minimalist painters, Dale Chihuly, Franz Kline, and Francis Bacon.
A member of the Fort Point Artists Community, she has exhibited in a variety of locations in the Boston and Cambridge area, including Achilles, the FPAC Gallery, The Lilypad in Inman Square, Cambridge Common, Bricco, Harbor Art Gallery, and Larkin Gallery in Provincetown, MA. She is currently showing her work at the Blue Glass Cafe in the Hancock Tower in Boston.
In addition, Jess serves as one of two arts editors for Printer’s Devil Review, an online literary and arts journal. She also occasionally volunteers with Boston Cares and Kitty Connection, an organization for cats in Medford, MA.
