David Sturtevant
About the Artist
David Sturtevant explores the relationship between banal architectural elements and their natural or built surroundings with oil paint. While many of his paintings are rooted in a specific place, they seek to examine the boundaries between realism and abstraction, emphasizing the visual impact of forms as shapes on the surface of the painting.
Over the last twelve years, David has exhibited his work in Boston and San Francisco; he has taught classes in oil painting, most recently at the Eliot School in Jamaica Plain, MA.
