No More Drama

No More Drama

In “No More Drama”, I am intrigued by the idea that “true” and “pure” emotions exist in our dreams. I was inspired by Erving Goffman’s Dramaturgical theory, people act during their daily social interactions, much like in the theatrical performance. There is a front region where the individual are “on stage”, in front of others. There is also a back stage, which are hidden or private place where the individual can be themselves.
The life-size shadow in the painting represents such secret garden. I hope when people stand in front of it, they can think of their true selves.
