Masks

Masks is an acrylic and oil on canvas painting. In this piece I layered the colors in thick lines and allowed them to dry before adding the next layer. Between layering I would add additional colors to the wet painting allowing for a mixing on the canvas. The masks are symbols for the spiritual life. They are hollow, see-through, images allowing the background to flow through them. All of life flows together and our “masks” do not hide as much as they reveal.
